I started in this hobby in 2001 after spending 10 years racing rc cars and flying planes for a short time. Over the past few years I have been teaching local pilots how to setup helicopters and teaching them to fly at my local field here in Grand Rapids Michigan.

The best advice I can pass on to anyone is to get help with your first setup so that there are no surprises when you hover for the first time, if possible hook up with a local club that offers flight instruction and setup help this will take you further faster and at less cost. Another important reason to join a local club is so that you buy right the first time, with all the radio choices and electronic choices out there it is important that your instuctor has the ability to program that type of radio and use a trainer cord for your first flights.
